What executive functioning covers
I specialize in assessing individuals with suspected learning differences, ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, executive functioning challenges, and other neurodevelopmental concerns. Testing includes measures of cognitive functions such as working memory, processing speed, and executive functioning.
Executive functioning difficulties often show up as trouble getting started, keeping track of materials and deadlines, managing time, and following through independently. Managing the stress of high school, transitioning to life after high school, and knowing how to manage college or work with less parent oversight is hard for many young adults, especially those who are neurodiverse.
Who this is for
- Students whose difficulties look like disorganization or lack of effort rather than a gap in ability.
- Students who are bright and capable but cannot consistently show it in their output.
- College and graduate students managing academic work with far less external structure.
- Adults who have worked around long-standing difficulties and want to understand them.
How executive functioning is assessed
Executive functioning is evaluated as part of a comprehensive evaluation rather than in isolation, because the same difficulties can arise from attention, learning, language, or emotional factors, and telling them apart is the point of the assessment.
Comprehensive evaluations include:
- Intake interview
- Record review
- Standardized testing
- Behavioral and rating scale measures
- Collaboration with relevant professionals when appropriate
- Comprehensive written report
- Feedback meeting with findings and recommendations

What you receive
After testing and record review are completed, a comprehensive written report is prepared. During the feedback meeting, assessment findings, diagnoses (when appropriate), strengths, areas of difficulty, and recommendations are reviewed in detail. Time is also provided for questions and discussion regarding next steps, accommodations, interventions, educational planning, and support recommendations.
What it costs
Assessment fees vary depending on the complexity of the referral concerns, the amount of record review required, the number of testing sessions needed, and whether accommodations documentation is being requested for college, graduate school, or standardized examinations. Because every evaluation is individualized, a more specific fee estimate is provided following the initial intake consultation.
Services are provided on a private-pay basis. Payment and insurance reimbursement are the responsibility of the client. While I am not contracted with insurance companies, some clients may be eligible for partial reimbursement for out-of-network services depending on their individual insurance plan. Upon request, a detailed receipt or superbill can be provided for clients to submit directly to their insurance company for possible reimbursement.
